Coming soon-Wyoming

Keith Degnan, a volunteer at the Science Museum of Virginia, spent Friday at VMNH learning vertebrate fossil preparation. Several of VMNH’s dinosaur bones are currently on exhibit at the Science Museum. Keith spent most of the day working on our diplodocid scapulocoracoid.Our next Wyoming excavation starts in less than 2 months, and we are already in the planning stages. There is a long lead-time to excavations, in obtaining permits, planning campsites, vehicles, food, excavation supplies, and dozens of other details that must be considered.

There’s still time to sign up for this trip. There’s nothing quite like spending your day working outside, especially when this is the view:

    Look forward to another stay at Shell Campground and another week in the wilds of Wyoming. This is a fascinating opportunity.
