Yesterday, the entire VMNH Paleontology staff (Ray, Christina, and I) along with volunteers Tim Dooley and Ashley Kendrick and Roanoke College professor/ VMNH research associate DorothyBelle Poli, traveled to the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences in Raleigh for the North Carolina Fossil Fair.

After setting up tables and cases with displays of casts and merchandise from the VMNH gift shop, we spent the day answering questions about fossils, selling casts and other items to raise funds for the museum, and doing demonstrations of pouring and painting casts:

Over 400 people stopped by our booth, and we raised several hundred dollars for the museum. Thanks to the NCMNS and North Carolina Fossil Club for organizing and hosting a fun and productive event.
