This evening is the opening reception of the GSA southeast section meeting, which is being held this year in Blacksburg, VA at Virginia Tech. VMNH will have a big presence at the meeting; the entire Paleontology and Earth Science departments are in attendance.

Besides presenting several talks, VMNH also has a large exhibit, with casts, publications, and teaching kits for sale, as well as displays of Carmel Church casts and fossil insects from the Solite Quarry.

The meeting lasts through Friday, and I’ll be posting updates here when I can, as well as on Twitter at the hashtag #SEGSA14.
